Changing the fuel pump

Erika had to help Chris change the fuel pump on our truck. Wyatt still wasn't feeling very well and didn't want to come outside. Erika was right there to help her daddy!!! It is fun to watch the kids. Chris is usually pretty patient to let them be there. Although Erika copied a few choice words from Daddy that were not appropriate. Hopefully she won't repeat them!!!

Wyatt school program

Wyatt's class had a little Christmas celebration right before they were released for Christmas break. They went around to some of the classrooms and sang some Christmas songs. Their teacher had to have worked really hard because they did great!!! It was fun to be able to go and see them. I was the only parent there!!! I had volunteered to make some sugar cookies and I thought more would come. It was nice though. Each child was asked to bring a Santa hat or reindeer ears. They thought it was great. Wyatt had come down with Strep throat a few days before. He was able to go back and sort of participate since he was on his antibiotics. Poor kid was really sick. When we took him into the Dr. They didn't even have to test him they just looked at his throat and said Yep definateley strep. Thank goodness for antibiotics!!!

Chusrch Christmas party

Wyatt played the part of a Shepherd in our church Christmas program. It is always nice to have the story of the birth of our Savior told. The kids even had a special visitor that night!! Santa was able to come and have each of the kids sit on his lap. Erika wanted nothing to do with it. I missed Wyatt because he was so fast. It was a nice night and the kids had fun.

Erika's Winterfest Performance

Erika had a dance performance at the Henderson Winterfest. She did OK. They were the last performers and had to sit there while everyone else performed. The entire show was GREAT!!! Her dance teacher is such a great teacher and the kids all performed well. The also participated in a light parade but I forgot my camera. At the Winterfest they had carnvial rides and of course the kids had to ride the carousel. It makes me so sick to ride it but they love it.

Making Sugar Cookies

We made our annual sugar cookies. The kids LOVE it. It is a headache for me to have them help but it is fun. I think Erika ate as much dough as she actually made the cookies!!! We also had to make some gingerbread cookies for Wyatt.

Erika's making music

Erika's very into making music. She found this tin popcorn holder and decided it made a great drum. Of course she has to be naked!!! I have the hardest time keeping clothes on her. No matter what the temperature is she is always running around in her underwear. Anyways, she thinks it is great to play the drums!!!

A/B Honor Roll

Wyatt earned a spot on the A/B Honor Roll. He had all A's and one B in Writing. I was very surprised that there weren't more students her earned this. I mean it is first grade. He was very excited and was glad to earn the certificate. I told him if he works really hard he could make that B into an A because he was so close. He said he would see. I am glad that he was able to earn those grades and hope that they continue!!!

Moms Makeup

This is what you look like when you get into mom's makeup by yourself for about 20 minutes. Wyatt was doing his reading and I thought Erika was playing in the toy room. Little did I know what she was playing with. She had gotten a hold of my compact and had been powdering her face until she looked like a ghost. It is a constant battle to keep her out of my makeup!!

Erika's "Tea party"

Erika received a little tea party set for her birthday 2 yrs ago. It is made of porcelain. She is almost big enough to use it. She wanted to have a little tea party so we drank some soda and ate some cookies. I taught her to put her pinkie up when she is drinking and she thought that was great. We had to have tea parties for about a week. She even had Chris doing them with her. She also would instruct him to raise his pinky. You have to love little girls!!!

The kids helped decorate the Christmas tree again. It is nice that they are big enough to help but it is a fight because they BOTH want to hang everything. I didn't get a picture of the finished product either. I usually get a picture of them standing in front of it but I didn't this year. :(

Thanksgiving

We had a nice and quiet Thanksgiving. Chris's mom came and Erika helped her make pies. The kids enjoyed her visit. Wyatt also had a turkey dinner at school. The entire first grade was involved. It was a lot of fun for them. They had everything!!! I was glad that I only had to bring a few things. The kids really enjoyed it and many came through for seconds.

Aviation Nation!!!

Every Year Nellis AFB does a HUGE Air show. I brave the crowds, buses and noise by myself with two kids. It's loads of fun!!! I have to say it was easier this year. I don't know if we arrived at the right time(we were late as usual) or if the lines were smaller or what. We only had to wait about 20 minutes for the bus and we didn't have to ride the handicap one either!! I have usually tried to go through the handicap line because it is shorter and I am handicapped with two kids right? Any way, it was easier this year. Especially with Erika a little more independent. At least she could go up the bus steps her self. The kids as usual had a blast. They love being able to crawl through all of the planes and Wyatt especially likes to play with the guns. They really have some neat stuff the kids can see and there are tons of free stuff. Just what we wanted to haul around all day right?

The highlight of the day for the kids was to meet Billy the Exterminator. He has a TV show that they love to watch. "Billy" has a saying that is on the shows introduction. When it was our turn, Wyatt told him he really liked his show and really liked the part where he says "Ahhhh, Snake!!!" So in turn "Billy" did this for him. We weren't able to take pictures with our camera but they did take one. I am waiting for it to be on the website so I can download it. I have no idea why this guy was at the air show but Wyatt sure liked it.

We enjoyed watching the airplanes and one of these years I will remember to actually bring earplugs instead of having to have my kids plug their ears with their fingers. I only wish that Chris would be able to go one of these times instead of having to work.
