Disney on Ice!!!

We went to the 100 years of Disney on Ice.  It was Fantastic!!!  I think I loved it as much as my kids did.  It was really neat to be able to see it.  It didn't hurt either that we had a friend that was able to get us in for cheap but good seats.  I only wish that I would have had a better camera.  Ours is OK but it could definitely be better.,  Erika was being a stinker and wouldn't let me take her picture.  I think the highlight of the night was when er were going back to the car.  Erika was on the escalator ahead of me about 5 steps.  Somehow she lost her footing at the end and ended up falling.  It was funny trying to see her TRY to get up but not working because the steps were disappearing.  She didn't think it was funny.  Everyone had a good laugh.  Now if only I would have had the camera going THEN!!!

Playing around

One Sunday after church the kids were playing outside.  We thought it was hilarious that Wyatt had Erika wear the helmet and hold the gun.  She was also in her bathrobe.  She doesn't like to wear clothes and so this is what she put on.  They were having a great time.  I love it when they actually get a long and play together.  I am sure this won't last forever.

County Fair

Erika had a dance performance at the county fair.  We have never taken our kids.  It was fun.  It was really cold and windy that weekend though.  Erika and Wyatt thought it was great to be able to see all the little animals.  you can definitely tell that they are city kids!!!  They get so excited to see the chickens, goats, cows etc..  Everything that you take for granted when you grow up in a rural area.  They both milked the pretend cow.  It was pretty funny watching them.  Erika did such a great job dancing!!!  Only two other little girls from her class came.  They are so cute to watch!!!  I love that she dances.  Sometimes it is a fight to get her to go but she usually has fun once she gets there.  She isn't ever nervous for her performances either.  I am sure this will change next year a she gets a little older and realizes what exactly is going on. Erika loved to ride the ponies.  I think she could have stayed there all day.  They also had a little attraction that put you in a huge ball to walk/play on water.  It looked sooo fun.  I would have loved to try it.  Erika just sat and floated in it the whole time.  Wyatt tried to run but he kept falling.  all in all they had a great time.

Easter Celebrations!!!

 We had a great Easter this year!!!  We started by celebrating with some friends in the park with a mini egg hunt and dinner.  It was fabulous!!!  The kids had a great time.  Wyatt had a huge stash!!!  Wyatt and Erika had fun dying Easter eggs too.  Surprisingly Erika even likes hard boiled eggs!!!  She calls the yokes cheese though.  Why I have no idea.  The Easter bunny also visited our house and filled their baskets.  Erika received lots of princess things and Wyatt received lots of Halo items.  Both thought it was great.  Of course the Easter bunny hid all the eggs too.  Only this year instead of all candy he filled some of the eggs with quarters!!!  Wyatt thought that was great.  It was fun to celebrate.

La Jolla Beach

On our last day we took the kids to La Jolla Beach. There is where a group of sea lions come ashore to sun bathe and give birth to their pups. It was really neat to be able to see them. You are literally right next to them. If you wanted (which you're not allowed) you could tough them. The kids thought it was great to watch them. They also had fun playing in the surf. We wer'nt sure if they would be able to swim so I didn't have them in their suits. I thought they could just wade. Well Erika was the first to get to close to the edge when a wave came in and it knocked her off her feet. she wasn't to thrilled as the water was only 52 degrees. After that she wanted her suit and I told here there wasn't any point. They did have fun playing and splashing in the water and collecting sea shells. Once the tide was out it left behind a few tide pools. Chris and Wyatt saw a hermit crab, star fish, and some sea urchins. it was a great way to end the vacation. We forgot to spray sun lotion on us because we weren't sure how long we were staying. needless to say Mom was the one who turned out to be the Lobster. It is amazing to look out into the ocean and think what all is out there. I am awed that our loving Heavenly Father created something so beautiful for us. To witness something so powerful and calming is definitely a treat. When we were in the car going home Erika asked where we were going. I told her home and she asked to the Hotel? I told her no our house. She got upset and cried NOOOO I Want to go back to the hotel I don't want to go home. I guess she was having to much fun.
