Aviation Nation!!!

Every Year Nellis AFB does a HUGE Air show. I brave the crowds, buses and noise by myself with two kids. It's loads of fun!!! I have to say it was easier this year. I don't know if we arrived at the right time(we were late as usual) or if the lines were smaller or what. We only had to wait about 20 minutes for the bus and we didn't have to ride the handicap one either!! I have usually tried to go through the handicap line because it is shorter and I am handicapped with two kids right? Any way, it was easier this year. Especially with Erika a little more independent. At least she could go up the bus steps her self. The kids as usual had a blast. They love being able to crawl through all of the planes and Wyatt especially likes to play with the guns. They really have some neat stuff the kids can see and there are tons of free stuff. Just what we wanted to haul around all day right?

The highlight of the day for the kids was to meet Billy the Exterminator. He has a TV show that they love to watch. "Billy" has a saying that is on the shows introduction. When it was our turn, Wyatt told him he really liked his show and really liked the part where he says "Ahhhh, Snake!!!" So in turn "Billy" did this for him. We weren't able to take pictures with our camera but they did take one. I am waiting for it to be on the website so I can download it. I have no idea why this guy was at the air show but Wyatt sure liked it.

We enjoyed watching the airplanes and one of these years I will remember to actually bring earplugs instead of having to have my kids plug their ears with their fingers. I only wish that Chris would be able to go one of these times instead of having to work.

Shooting fun!!!

The first weekend after Halloween, we took our pumpkins so Wyatt could target practice. Those poor pumpkins were so gross. They were really starting to rot. Erika didn't want her pumpkin shot but eventually gave in. Everyone had fun. Of course after they were shot they had to get into a pumpkin fight. It was gross. At least they were smiling even if they did stink and we had to wash the jackets.

Wyatt wanted to be Drago the Bakugan dragon and Erika wanted to be Ariel the little mermaid. thank goodness for Ebay. I had no idea that they actually had a costume for Wyatt. Luckily we found it cheap. We were disappointed once we got it though. In the pictures the wings looked really stiff. they weren't. I sewed them on and placed some boning in it to try and make it a little stiffer. Wyatt liked it lots more after that. Erika had to have this specific dress. There were tons of different little mermaid styles but she wanted this one. We purchased it for super cheap too. We added the princess Ariel shoes that are at least 4 sizes to big and her flower in her hair. she alsways wants her hair down now. I can hardly get here to wear it in anything because of Ariel. At least it gets combed right? I sprayed both of their hair with red spray. Boy that was fun trying to get it all out. I think I have been finding pink dust all over my bthroom and clothes. Can I just say LOTS of candy!!! Between the school carnival, the trunk or treat at church and actual trick or treating we were swamped with candy!!! They enjoyed it though. Erika lasted about one full street before she said she was done. Wyatt lasted 3 full streets. I think trick or treating is fun but get very annoyed when I am handing out candy to adults!!! I can't count how many adults and older ids that I either saw or came to our house. We were always taught to "give up" trick or treating when we were about 11 or 12. I guess times have changed but it still irks me. I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween!!!

Carving Pumkins & decorating haunted houses

We decided to decorate a haunted house this year. Wyatt and Erika had a fun time. Erika enjoyed eating the frosting more than anything. As much as she ate I was surprised she didn't get sick. They also had fun carving pumpkins. Wyatt carved his all by himself. We were really impressed. Erika had to have an Ariel pumpkin since she was going to be a mermaid. Everything is Ariel this days. I think it turned out pretty good. Chris carved a vampire ghost . He decided to try and use his Dremel tool to see if it was any faster. It wasn't. Just messier. At least everyone had fun!!!

Halloween parade and carnival

Wyatt school had their annual costume parade and carnival. The kids always have a blast. this year it turned out to be really windy and cold. The only day that has been that way until now (Nov). Both Erika and Wyatt had fun playing the games. I let Erika wear her costume and she thought that was great. Wyatt koved that he could wear hair color that day.

Erika's 1st Dance Performance

Erika had her first dance performance on October 21st. They performed in their Halloween costumes at the mall here. She was soooo cute!!!! I was wondering if she would see all the people and decide that she wouldn't dance but she got right up there and did the 3 dances. She is doing really well I think. Her teacher says that once in a while she will have attitude but she generally listens. I was really woried about this because she has major attitude with us!!!
